The day finished with the Coast Toyota Demolition Derby where the last car still going is declaired the winner. Twenty two cars took to the field and one of the first casualties was Rodney Thompson who rolled his car onto the roof. This wasn't Rodneys day as his entry in the South Island TQ championship blew the motor in the warm up round. This event is a real crowd pleaser with plenty of action and crashes.
The final two cars going were Michael Anisey and Dwain Iafeta and Iafeta finally took the money when Anisey's car eventally died.

Dwayne 2006 Demo Derby champ!
Dwayne Iafeta has crashed and bashed his way to win the 2006 Coast Toyota Demo Derby.
Dwayne managed to survive an exciting derby that had its beginings much like a production car race but soon degenerated into the chaos that is a demo derby!
Well done Dwayne
