West Coast Speedway 17 Dec 2005
Scorching conditions at West Coast Speedway at Greenstone Park matched the racing on Saturday. The largest crowd this season enjoyed the closely contested South Island Modified Championship. Local Stephen Thompson finished well in the first two races but lost his chance at the money when he hit the wall in the last race. The other local entrant was Robbie Brown who blew his chance at second place in race two with mechanical problems. Steven Crowe from Christchurch took the championship with 19 points. Second equal with 16 points Natasha Rodgers and Nigel Niven (Christchurch)was decided on the toss of a coin and was awarded to Rodgers.
