West Coast Speedway
Results 8 December 2012 South Island TQ Championship
A great day and a great day’s racing at the 2012 South Island TQ Championship. Entries
were received from Christchurch, Nelson and from the growing field of West Coast drivers
in this class. Hopes were high for a West Coast win with 1st place in race 1 going to 14GM
Sean Brown and James Thompson 82GM in a handy 7th position. The situation was quite
different after the second round with six of the Christchurch drivers now leading the field
on points. Thompson raced well for 3rd spot but this did not give him enough points and the
overall championship went to Christchurch. Thompson was the first local home on 46
points and Brown the 2nd local on 40 points.

Stock Cars
The local driver numbers were enhanced by a group of Christchurch cars that came over

preparation for the New Zealand Stock Car Grand Prix to be held here in January.
Christchurch drivers took out the first two final placings but were closely followed by 38GM
Tony Oliver in 3rd place and 82GM Dwayne Honey in 4th place overall.
