The Equip Engineering South Island Modified Championship was held on Saturday at Greenstone Park. This event had been postponed twice earlier in the season due to rain.
The Recreation Hotel Mainland Ministocks was another feature of the day?s racing.
South Island Modified Championship
A good field of 10 of the 12 modifieds, currently racing in the South Island, thrilled the crowd with every fast racing on Saturday. The first local home was Grant Harkness in fifth equal place. The other local entrant was unfortunate to have to retire in the first heat with mechanical problems. Natasha Rogers from Christchurch was unlucky not to take the title after leading going into the last round. A spectacular roll in the later stages of this round put paid to her chances but she still had enough accumulated points for third place.
