Barry Butterworth Midgets - 19 January 08
Another brilliant day's racing and our feature this meeting was the first round of the Development West Coast Barry Butterworth Midget series.
These midgets are really fast and can reach speeds of over 100km/hour down the back straight.
Heat 1 was a bit of a disaster as far as the midgets went with only 6 of the 12 cars reaching the finishing post and this heat was won by 95C Ray Baughan after leading for most of the race.
Heat 2 was a close race between Baughan and 99C Dave Kerr. Kerr also won the last race but did not finish the first race so was down on aggregate points. Second place on one point difference was 9C Garry Lennon with two seconds and a third.

1st 95C Ray Baughan 33 points
2nd 9C Gary Lennon 32 points
3rd 21D Gavin Wilkie 26 points

Although there were only three modifieds racing, they put on a great display.

83GM Shane Olsen put in a superb performance with two firsts and scored first equal with 8GM Allan Meaclem.

Youth Ministocks
Excellent performance by 14GM Sean Brown and 23GM Matthew Todd as they took the first and second placings in all races. At the end of the meeting Brown was ahead by 1 point with two firsts and a second placing.

Production Saloons:
A good field of cars for this class that is increasing in number all the time.
83N Scott James from Nelson took the overall points with two first and a second.
