South Island Super Saloons - 02 February 08

Racing was abandoned in the Smith's Speed and Spares South Island Super Saloons after about 12 races of a 18 race event due to dangerous track conditions caused by the wet weather.
The racing was to be continued on Sunday but again was cancelled due to the weather.

Only one heat of the Super Saloons was completed with 34T Ray Stewart taking the first place. 58C Richie Taylor was second and 261E Dave McCallian in third place.

The A J Mooney Youth Ministocks King of the Coast completed two of three heats and local competitor Sean Brown was holding second equal place. The next best local competitor was Dave Houston on 21 points in 6th place.

A decision will be made shortly as to the fate of the South Island Super Saloons and Youth Ministock King of the Coast.
