West Coast Speedway 6 January 2007
Awesome racing at Greenstone Park on Saturday for the Recreation Hotel Mainland Ministocks and Mighty Midgets from Christchurch.
Ministocks
A large field entered the Mainland Ministocks and all races were hard fought with brilliant crowd pleasing entertainment. The first race was won by Nigel Boyce from Blenheim and the second by Chris McSherry of Christchurch. At the end of the second round, Allan Meaclem was leading on points after a third and second in the first two races but had to concede the last round as his ministock refused to start. The skill of many experts at the track still failed to start it and the consensus was that the problem was fuel related. Wetport entrants of Mario Marzola and Brent Wilson raced well and it is great to see them at Greenstone Park.
The first place was a tie on points between Dave Terris and Chris McSherry of Christchurch and the run-off was won by Terris with consistent placings through the races of fifth, forth and third.
