Greenstone Park Speedway

Finally a day when the sun shone at Greenstone Park. Racing had to be transferred to Sunday as racing was not possible with the rain on Saturday.

The 2006-07 Club Championships were held in all the classes that raced today. Entries from Westport, Timaru and Christchurch helped make an excellent days racing.

Undeniably the best production saloon racing we have seen at the track for a while outside the King of the Coast as the results show.
Three drivers were first equal on points and had to toss for the sashes presented to all winners today.

3 33GM Ross Brown


Ministocks
It was great to see entries from Westport in this class and we hope this will happen more frequently. Once again there was a tie for placings that had to be decided by a toss of a coin.

2 65GM Glen Redmond 16 points
3 8GM Allan Meaclem 16 points


Youth Ministocks
Westport drivers were again entered into the youth ministock class as many of these ministocks have an adult and youth driver.
Jayden Gerrard one again took our first place with a clean sweep of first placings in all races.
Second and third placings were keenly contested between Sean Brown and Regan Stanton

Street Stocks
A smaller field took to the track for this class but as usual the racing was a real crowd pleaser with only 1 point separating the placings.

TQ's
Once again James Thompson showed his driving ability and with a first place in all races. A tie for second place was decided by a coin toss.
