The weather for opening day for West Coast Speedway on Monday was a big improvement over Saturday's weather. A good crowd watched some excellent racing for the first time out and double points for overall Club Championship.

Newcomer from Nelson Tim Kemp was running first equal with Ross Mitchell but lost it in the last round.
